Clause 03 — Valuation

Settle the numberbefore anythinghappens to the car.

An ordinary auto policy pays actual cash value: what the car was worth the instant before the loss, minus depreciation. That arithmetic was written for commuter cars that lose value every year. Yours does not work that way.

How it works
  1. You and the carrier settle on a value.

An appraisal, a documented sale, or a market comparison we build with you. Nothing is guessed at, and nothing is decided later.

  2. That figure is written into the policy.

It sits on the declarations page in plain numbers — not inside a formula that only gets applied once something has gone wrong.

  3. A total loss pays that figure.

No depreciation schedule. No mileage penalty. No argument about what the car supposedly became while it sat in your garage.

In plain terms

Agreed value isn't a discount or an add-on — it's a different way of settling a claim. Standard auto insurance is built for cars that lose value every year, so it pays whatever a depreciation table says the car was worth right before the loss. A collector car doesn't follow that curve, so the coverage shouldn't either.
