Reference — Questions on file

Questions wehear most.

Quoting, eligibility, coverage and claims — the questions that come up before someone calls the desk.

Getting a quote
How long does a quote take?
Same business day in most cases, next business day at the latest. We'll ask about the car, how it's stored, and roughly how many miles you put on it a year.
Is there any obligation once I get a quote?
None. A quote is a quote — you can take it, compare it, or walk away, and we'd rather you compare it.
Do you need the car in hand to quote it?
No. Photos, a description, and sometimes a documented sale price or appraisal are usually enough to start.
Eligibility
What kinds of cars do you insure?
Classic and collector cars, muscle cars and hot rods, and several other categories — see our vehicle classes for the full list. If your car doesn't fit neatly, ask us.
Does my car have to be garaged?
Most carriers want it stored in an enclosed, secure space. Tell us your situation and we'll tell you what fits.
Is there a minimum age for the car?
Most carriers look around 20 years and older, but usage and condition matter more than a strict cutoff.
Coverage & claims
What is agreed value coverage?
A settled figure, written into your policy before anything happens to the car. A total loss pays that figure — not a depreciated estimate decided after the fact.
How do I file a claim?
Call the desk or start online — see our claims page for what happens at each step.
Can the agreed value change over time?
Yes. If the car appreciates or the market shifts, we can revisit the figure with you at renewal or with a fresh appraisal.

Still havea question?

Call the desk and ask — most conversations start with a question, not a quote request.
