Clause 07 — Claims

Claims Process Overview

What to expect if you ever need to use the policy — before anything happens, not after. The short version: call the desk, and your agreed value is already on file.

Most people never think about how a claim works until they need one — which is exactly when it’s hardest to learn. Here’s the short version, in advance: you call the desk, we open the claim with your carrier, and the agreed value already on your declarations page is the figure that applies to a total loss.

There’s no separate appraisal fight at claim time, because that conversation already happened when the policy was written.

What's covered
  1. Direct access to the desk

You call the same people who quoted the car, not a general claims line that has never seen your file.

  2. Agreed value already on record

For a total loss, the figure on your declarations page applies — there's no separate valuation argument at claim time.

  3. We stay involved

As your agent, we stay on the file through the carrier's process rather than handing you off once the claim is opened.

Questions on this coverage
What's the difference between this page and "File a Claim"?
This page explains how the process works before you ever need it. File a Claim is the page to use when you actually have a loss to report.
Does filing a claim affect my agreed value?
No. The agreed value is set before a loss occurs and doesn't get renegotiated as part of the claims process.
